Kwilek Mimír

Kwilek Mimír is a Skitterfolk wizard serving under the ever-watchful eye of the Old God known as the Blinded One.

The Dwarven Proving

Driven by a desire for knowledge, Kwilek used his knowledge of the city - and of the occult - to serve his patron loyally, ultimately earning the honour of carrying his mask. In exchange for arcane secrets, Kwilek was granted an honourary doctorate in the occult arts from Serogarth Academy. Though declining a political role in Skaldheim, Kwilek used his influence to help ensure the elections of both Bukhamli and the new Monarch. Kwilek has now joined Laika on their quest south.

The Pale Covenant

Kwilek Mímir was no stranger to world-ending threats, having defeated the Chorus in its efforts to claim dominion over the Staalfort. And yet he and his travelling companion Laika du Fausyth were to be dragged into an even greater problem.

Relentless in his pursuit of knowledge, and spurred on by his patron the Blinded One, Kwilek sought out the truth of the Solaisian assault, intent on discovering Sulla’s schemes. But such discoveries would come at a cost – on the day of the empress’ death, Laika was taken hostage by Sulla’s forces.

In an effort to secure Laika’s safety, Kwilek made a deal with the Empire of Solais. He would provide information, and plant Solaisian technology within the framework of a mechanical god forged by Dwarves in ages past. But he took his chances, and played his cards well, turning the deal to his advantage for not only Laika’s safety but for information.

And with knowledge of the Wylde Hunt came Kwilek’s change of plan. He would support the Hunt, not to foster the gods’ power but to watch and learn as the world around him changes. The Blinded One thought much the same, and so Kwilek began his work.

When the party finally divided and went to war with itself, Kwilek found himself aligned with Morana, and so with another old god. He took no joy in turning against old friends – Mr S, Briar and Aretasia Ashe, even the Knights Vigil. But such sacrifices must sometimes be made.

After it all, Kwilek hunted the remaining aspects of his patron’s soul, trapped within various relics of ancient power. This included sending the floating city of Sal-Themar crashing once more to the ground, its power source claimed for his growing master.

Later, Kwilek accepted a position at Serogarth Academy to become an archmage and teacher, providing expertise on matters of old magic, and providing him with yet more opportunities to learn and to observe.

But Kwilek is an old man now, and his remaining years are numbered. He has served his patron well, and – should he die – he will take his place at the Blinded One’s side, to sift through knowledge and half-true prophesy for all eternity.
